Embracing the seasons
There is nothing quite like the eternal beauty of the gentle winter light. The Sun is at its farthest below the horizon, the days are short and the temperatures freezing. The tilt at 23.44 degree angle means that as our beloved planet moves through its orbit it gives us the gift of changing seasons. I don’t have a favourite and believe it’s best to embrace them all, they are all unique and beautiful. At winter time the trees may be bare like in Zoltán Zelk’s childrens’ poem above, but that cannot stop us creating great outdoor portraits - in fact quite the opposite. Frosted landscapes and misty horizons will only help capturing magical moments. The coldest season is the best if you are chasing moody photos with special atmosphere.

WHERE CAN WE DO THE SHOOT?
I'm lucky enough to live in the beautiful village of Heighington, full of characters and with plenty green space.
For natural outdoor portraiture this is a perfect location, and I know a range of stunning and easily accessible spots. If you'd prefer to shoot somewhere else though, then I'm happy to travel to a mutually convenient location within a reasonable distance.
Location really is everything. Why not incorporate one of your favorite places? Or somewhere you’ve been dying to go? I’m thinking of the local beauty spots such as Hardwick Park, High Force, Low Force Waterfalls, and a range of Parks and Country House gardens nearby. Make it an adventure!
What if it rains?
Why not say "So what if it rains!?" Whilst most of us adults love the sunshine, if given the opportunity, kids love the rain! Getting all wet and muddy is all a part of being a child, and is so much fun. A bit of drizzle is really nothing to worry about for images, in fact, grey and overcast days are wonderful for skin tones and prevent sun-squinting in photographs! If the forecast looks terrible though and we're experiencing torrential sideways rain and thunder, well, then of course we will reschedule. (Please let me know if you specifically would like your shoot to take place when the sun is out.)
What should we wear?
Most importantly make sure you are feeling comfortable in the chosen outfit. After the booking I’ll send you a detailed “How to prepare” guide with full of hints and tips.
When will we receive our photos?
Your online gallery will be ready within 3 weeks of the session. Regarding prints I can confirm the exact date once you have chosen your favourites.
Can we have all the digital images from the shoot?
Yes, for an extra charge.
Can we purchase albums and more printed product like mounted framed artwork, Desk- or wall-arts?
Yes there is a wide range of high quality products available, you will receive the pricelist in the booking process.
WHAT CAN we EXPECT WHEN we BOOK A SESSION WITH you, ANy general tips?
First and foremost, I want to create the most calm and relaxing atmosphere possible. It’s so important that the focus is on you and your family, and the affectionate yet playful relationship that exists between you. I want you to think of our time together as nothing more than a snuggle session with your loved ones, because those are the interactions I want to capture in beautiful outdoor scenes with your family at the center, being yourselves and having fun.
The best advice I can give you is to come with no specific expectations and just be your authentic self..
